A New Way To Save Power: Automatic Voltage Stabilizer

Publish Time: Author: Site Editor Visit: 15

With the continuous development of computers and the continuous improvement of CPU main frequency, the frequency of processor chips is getting higher and higher, and the computing speed is getting faster and faster. However, with the miniaturization and mobility of personal computing devices these days, "bigger and stronger" processors are obviously too stupid and rough. What we need is a more power-saving chip.

Wonyoung Kim (Jin Wangyang?), a graduate of Harvard University, has developed a multi-core voltage regulator mounted on the processor chip. This device can adjust the input voltage of the processor core in a very short time: how much is used, so as to solve the problem of power saving.

This Automatic Voltage Stabilizer can basically be regarded as a 2.4V DC to 0.4~1.4V DC converter, which only takes 20 nanoseconds to complete the high and low voltage conversion. From the above figure, it is not difficult to see that the new curve is more in line with the actual processor energy demand.
