Causes Of Unstable Mains (factory) Voltage

There are three main aspects of voltage instability.
Voltage deviation caused by power grid:
Voltage deviation caused by power grid means that the actual voltage amplitude changes "slowly" and deviates from the rated voltage in a certain period of time. The deviation is steady-state, which is what we call high or low voltage. The size of voltage deviation mainly depends on the operation mode of the power system, line impedance and changes in active and reactive loads. Voltage deviation mainly refers to the location of electrical equipment and the time of operation, such as low voltage at the end of the line and high voltage at night. The main measures to improve voltage deviation are: correctly select the transformer ratio and voltage tap; reasonably reduce line impedance; improve power factor, reasonably perform reactive compensation, and automatically switch the capacity of reactive compensation equipment according to voltage and load changes; timely adjust the operation mode according to the power system flow distribution; adopt load-based voltage regulation means, such as the selection of on-load voltage regulation transformers, voltage stabilizers, etc.
Voltage fluctuation caused by large starting equipment nearby:
Voltage fluctuation means that the actual voltage amplitude changes "sharply" and deviates from the rated voltage in a certain period of time. The deviation is dynamic, which is what we call voltage fluctuations. Voltage fluctuations are mainly caused by impact loads caused by rapid changes in the load of large electrical equipment. The start-up and stop and loading and unloading of large motors, such as steel rolling mill biting, crane lifting and starting, arc furnace melting period short circuit, arc welding machine arcing, electric locomotive starting or climbing, etc., all have impact loads. The magnitude of voltage fluctuations is mainly determined by the frequency of voltage fluctuations, the magnitude of fluctuations, and the requirements for voltage quality in the workplace. Measures to suppress voltage fluctuations include: increasing the capacity of the power supply system, that is, replacing large-capacity transformers, or having large power grids to undertake power supply tasks; improving the power supply voltage level; using dedicated transformers and dedicated power lines; improving production processes and operating levels; using dedicated voltage stabilizer equipment, etc.

The long distance of power supply equipment leads to large voltage fluctuations:

The large voltage fluctuations cause a large deviation in the power supply voltage when the equipment is started and not started, resulting in the equipment not being able to work normally or only starting a small part of the equipment. The main reason is that the long power supply line leads to a large resistance of the wire and a large voltage drop, especially in farm irrigation equipment, tunnel construction equipment, scenic spots and other places. The solution uses AC Power Conditioner, step-up transformers, etc.
