Development History Of Ac Voltage Stabilizer (power Supply)

In 1955, American scientist G.H.Royer first successfully developed a transistor DC converter that uses the saturation of the magnetic core for self-oscillation. Since then, various forms of DC converters using this technology have been continuously developed and emerged, replacing the early rotating and mechanical oscillator commutation devices with short life, poor reliability, and low conversion efficiency. Since the power transistors in the transistor DC converter work in a switching state, the voltage regulator (voltage stabilized power supply) made from it has a large number of output groups, variable polarity, high efficiency, small size, and light weight, so it was widely used in aerospace and military electronic equipment at that time. Because the microelectronic equipment and technology at that time were very backward, it was impossible to produce transistors with high voltage resistance, high switching speed, and high power, so the DC converters of this period could only use low voltage input, and the conversion speed could not be too high.
In the 1960s, due to the rapid development of microelectronics technology, high reverse voltage transistors appeared. From then on, the DC converter can be directly input from the mains after rectification and filtering, and no power frequency transformer is needed to reduce the voltage, which greatly expands its application range. On this basis, the switching power supply without power frequency step-down transformer was born. The power frequency transformer is eliminated, and the volume and weight of the switching voltage stabilizer (also called switching type voltage stabilizer) are greatly reduced. The switching voltage stabilizer has truly achieved high efficiency, small size and light weight.
After the 1970s, high-frequency, high-reverse voltage power transistors, high-frequency capacitors, switching diodes, switching transformer cores and other components related to this technology have been continuously developed and produced, so that the switching voltage stabilizer without power frequency transformer has developed rapidly and has been widely used in electronic computers, communications, aerospace, color TVs and other fields, making the switching voltage stabilizer without power frequency transformer the leader of various power supplies.
The necessity of using a voltage stabilizer (voltage stabilizer)
With the rapid advancement of society, electrical equipment is increasing day by day. However, the aging and lagging development of power transmission and distribution facilities, as well as poor design and insufficient power supply, have caused the voltage of end users to be too low, while the voltage of line users is often high. For electrical equipment, especially high-tech and precision equipment with strict voltage requirements, it is like having no insurance. Unstable Automatic Voltage Stabilizer can cause fatal damage or malfunction to the equipment, affect production, and cause delays in delivery, unstable quality and other losses. At the same time, it accelerates the aging of equipment, affects the service life and even burns accessories, so that owners face the trouble of needing maintenance or have to update equipment in a short period of time, wasting resources; in serious cases, safety accidents may even occur, causing immeasurable losses.
