The difference between a voltage stabilizer and a transformer

A voltage stabilizer can also be called an adjustable transformer. Its main purpose is to convert unstable input voltage into a stable voltage. Whether it is a purification type contactless voltage stabilizer, an intelligent contactless AC voltage stabilizer, an intelligent compensated AC voltage stabilizer, an intelligent high-precision voltage stabilizer, an intelligent parameter voltage stabilizer, a magnetic saturation voltage stabilizer, etc., the voltage stabilizer is composed of a transformer or a special transformer combined with a corresponding control circuit.

A voltage stabilizer is a device that provides a stable output voltage according to the needs of electrical equipment. It is divided into parameter (resonance) type, autocoupling (ratio) adjustment type, high-power compensation type, switching type and other types.

Constant Voltage Transformer(CVT) is a static device with two or more windings. In order to transmit electrical energy, at the same frequency, the AC voltage and current of one system are converted into the voltage and current of another system through electromagnetic induction. Usually these values ​​are different. When the voltage provided by the power grid is different from the rated input voltage of the load equipment, a transformer must be installed.

The voltage stabilizer is opposite to the transformer. The transformer is a device that changes the AC voltage. Its main components are the primary coil, the secondary coil and the iron core (winding machine). In electrical equipment and wireless circuits, transformers are often used to increase or decrease voltage, match impedance, and provide safety isolation. The voltage stabilizer is composed of a voltage regulating circuit, a control circuit, and a servo motor. When the input voltage or load changes, the control circuit samples, compares, and amplifies, and then drives the servo motor to rotate, changing the position of the voltage regulator's carbon brushes. By automatically adjusting the coil turns ratio, the output voltage is kept stable. Larger capacity voltage stabilizers also work on the principle of voltage compensation.
