Automatic Voltage Stabilizer is a new type of automatic voltage stabilizer often used in industry. However, some users reported that during the use of the automatic voltage stabilizer, the equipment temperature was too high, the three-phase current was unbalanced, and there was a large difference. Today, I will analyze the reasons for the large difference in current imbalance during the operation of the automatic voltage stabilizer and provide you with several solutions.

The main reasons for the three-phase current imbalance problem are as follows:

1. Severe imbalance of the three-phase power supply voltage

When the three-phase power supply voltage is seriously unbalanced for some reason, the three-phase current will be seriously unbalanced. Therefore, most of the power absorbed by the voltage stabilizer from the power supply becomes loss, causing the motor temperature to rise too high.

2. Inter-turn or non-serious inter-phase short circuit of the motor

When the voltage stabilizer in operation has an inter-turn short circuit or a non-serious inter-phase short circuit, the three-phase current of the three-phase motor will have a difference, resulting in an increase in winding temperature and heating of the casing.

3. Motor running with missing phase

When the running automatic voltage stabilizer has a phase break, the two-phase windings that are not broken become a series circuit, and the same current flows through the two-phase windings, which is actually single-phase operation. This makes the two-phase current of the motor increase significantly, the winding temperature rises, the speed decreases, and there is a buzzing sound. If the unprotected components do not operate for a long time, the insulation of the motor will be burned.

The solutions are:

1. Check whether the three-phase power supply voltage is balanced? If it is unbalanced, find out the cause of the imbalance and deal with it.

2. Use a bridge and megohmmeter to check the insulation resistance and DC resistance of the motor winding, find the fault and deal with it.

3. Check whether the three-phase power supply is missing phase, whether the winding is broken, whether the wire is broken, etc., find out the fault and deal with it.

4. Use a megohmmeter to check the insulation of the motor, check the fault and deal with it.

Doing the above can basically solve the problem of unbalanced current and large difference during the use of the automatic voltage stabilizer
