Four Methods To Detect Igbt On Voltage Regulator

Automatic Voltage Stabilizer is currently the most advanced compensated voltage regulator in China. The core component of the voltage regulator is IGBT. I have read many IGBT measurement methods, some of which are very essential, but not very comprehensive. Now I summarize and introduce four methods. These four methods are enough to meet the requirements of daily work. But this is based on simple tools, which can only be said to be routine measurements. The following are four major equipment (ranked in no particular order):

Digital multimeter: Although there are too many limitations in using it for measurement, it is the most commonly used and common tool. Using it to measure the tube voltage drop of the diode can not only determine its quality to a certain extent, but also determine their discreteness.

Digital capacitance meter: This may be used less by many people. In fact, we all know that the capacity of IGBT is regular. If the capacity is large, its various equivalent capacitances will also increase year-on-year. For example, the most important Cies is our measurement object. However, the official reference values given are mostly VGE=0V VCE=10V f=1MHZ, and we have no conditions to make a direct comparison. The digital capacitance meter we use is mostly tested at a frequency of 800HZ. But this does not affect our measurement. As long as we summarize the rules, the simple test instrument we have now is still very reliable, and it can determine the identity of each IGBT tube to a certain extent. Now many unscrupulous merchants make huge profits by pretending to be big, so this is a good method. If you use a module of "unknown origin" and it explodes, it may be this case. It is not because you are not good at technology or you are not careful enough in repairing, but because you have encountered a fake module.

Analog meter: Many people know this. It is used to measure the triggering and turning-on performance and the turning-off performance of IGBT.

In addition, it can also test the quality of IGBT. If the parallel diode is intact and the IGBT is open, it will not be triggered.

Transistor DC parameter test meter: Withstand voltage is one of the most important key parameters of IGBT, but when using it to test IGBT, it is also the most dangerous of the four measurement methods. If it is not done well, the IGBT will be scrapped.
