The term Dry Type Transformer, if it is for non-professionals like us, we don't understand what it is at all, so in order to let everyone know more about dry-type transformers, I will simply introduce to you the working principle of dry-type transformers.
A dry-type transformer is a transformer with only one winding. When used as a dry-type transformer, a part of the turns are drawn out from the winding as the secondary winding; when used as a dry-type transformer, the external voltage is only applied to a part of the turns of the winding. Usually, the part of the winding that belongs to both the primary and secondary is called the common winding, and the rest of the dry-type transformer is called the series winding. Compared with ordinary transformers, dry-type transformers of the same capacity are not only small in size, but also high in efficiency, and the larger the capacity of the dry-type transformer, the higher the voltage.
Therefore, with the development of the power system, the increase in voltage levels and the increase in transmission capacity, dry-type transformers have been widely used due to their large capacity, low loss and low cost.
